Achieve reliable, low-maintenance, long-term outdoor noise monitoring in all types of weather with the Larson Davis PRM2105 outdoor preamplifier. Designed to enhance the capabilities of the SoundExpert™ Model 821ENV Sound Level Meter, the PRM2105 delivers dependable, defensible measurements for both short-term and permanent installations.
An integrated, maintenance-free heater prevents condensation inside the microphone capsule, eliminating a common source of measurement error while removing the need for desiccants that require routine replacement. When paired with an outdoor microphone protection system, the PRM2105 ensures consistent, high-quality data even in harsh environmental conditions.
With low power consumption and rugged design, the PRM2105 is ideal for unattended outdoor noise monitoring applications. It integrates seamlessly into Larson Davis monitoring systems, including:
Model PRM2105 is fully compatible with Environmental Protection Shroud Model EPS2116. For outdoor measurements, PRM2105 should always be used with EPS2116 to provide complete protection for the microphone and preamplifier.
The PRM2105 introduces advanced system validation features typically found only in high-end monitoring systems. When used with the SoundExpert 821ENV, the system can perform automatic daily calibration checks at a user-defined time. A five-frequency tone is injected into the microphone and the response is recorded, verifying the integrity of the entire measurement chain. This continuous system health check:
The PRM2105 outdoor preamplifier, combined with the SoundExpert 821ENV, delivers a powerful, flexible, and cost-effective solution for environmental noise professionals. With built-in reliability features and simplified maintenance, it ensures your measurements remain accurate, defensible, and ready when you need them.
