Environmental Protection Shrouds: Larson Davis manufactures a complete line of weather protection systems (shrouds) for ½” microphones and preamplifiers. They are the perfect choice for short to mid-term measurements in inclement weather. Their special acoustic windscreen material and configuration protect the microphone and preamplifier from rain, sleet, and snow by sealing the preamplifier in a desiccated chamber, thus preserving performance in high humidity environments. The desiccant volume is many times greater than that of inline desiccant cartridges, for lasting protection without interference between the microphone and preamplifier. Finally, Models EPS210XX Environmental Shrouds are equipped with "bird-spikes" to deter birds and other animals.
