Model 831 - System Software Features
The Model 831 System Software is designed to run the instrument hardware including display, control, memory management and communication to an external PC. It was designed to be user interactive without requiring complex operating procedures or long response delays in taking measurements, displaying the data in an optimum format and being able to rapidly and accurately interpret the data. The key features and principal characteristics are:
- Clear indication of measurement data via large LCD graphic display
- Pop-up menus with scroll bars
- Rapid transition between operating modes and display screens – for example immediately switch between broadband and octave measurements without delay.
- Intuitive file management system
- Built-in optional firmware and integrated software
- Utility software to aid in setup, system configuration, upgrade and reporting
Model 831 - Application Software
- Integrating Sound Level Meter (ISM - Standard): Type 1 SLM for Sound Pressure Level Measurements for Environmental Noise and Workplace Noise Analysis
- 1/1 and 1/3 Octave Band Analysis (OB3 - Optional): Provides real-time 1/1 and 1/3 octave frequency analysis as a classification aid to environmental noise monitoring and machinery diagnostics
- Time History Data Logging SLM (LOG - Optional): Provides automatic data storage of noise parameters with interval periods from 20ms to 24hrs
- Exceedance Data Logging (ELA - Optional): Event Threshold Exceedance, fixed or dynamic, triggering with a Measurement History Analysis capability
- Industrial Hygiene (IH - Optional): Time Weighted Average data with two separate dosimetry measurements and dose calculations
- Sound Recording (SR - Optional): Sound Recording in .wav format for playback and source identification. Can be manually triggered or automatically at the beginning of each measurement or upon user-defined event.
- Reverberation Time Measurements (RT – Optional): RT60 measurements to ISO 3382-2 and ASTM E2235 standards. Enables built-in noise source on Model 831.
- Real-time FFT Analysis (FFT-Optional): One channel FFT measurements with up to 6400 lines of resolution. Frequency spans from 100 Hz to 20 kHz in various steps.
